Potential Students and Collaborators

I am recruiting one new graduate student to begin in spring 2024.

GRADUATE STUDENTS

Graduate students will expand research in the Aquatic Biogeochemistry Group by exploring questions in one of our research themes. Specific details will be developed later based on interest and previous experience. Graduate students will conduct independent research, in collaboration with Dr. Bogard, while engaging with undergraduate mentoring and teaching, and broader research collaborations. We are interested in applicants with experience in biogeochemistry, ecosystem ecology, and/or ecohydrology.  Successful applicants should also have research and scientific writing experience through previous employment/studies, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ph.D. applicants should have the equivalent of a M.Sc. from a graduate program in Canada (a 2-3 year program with a research thesis). All interested applicants should email Dr. Bogard a set of unofficial transcripts, CV, and a short "letter of interest" describing your research interests and experience, future goals, and why you are interested in joining the team. Prospective students who are eligible and interested in applying for scholarships (e.g., NSERC, NSF, etc.) are encouraged to contact Dr. Bogard prior to submitting.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Please email Dr. Bogard if you are interested in conducting an undergraduate research project and/or gaining experience with field or laboratory research at the University of Lethbridge. We are always looking for enthusiastic and hard working people.

POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATES

Please contact Dr. Bogard if you are interested in working as a postdoc in the Aquatic Biogeochemistry Group. I am always willing to discuss potential funding mechanisms and collaborate on grants to fund postdoctoral fellows.

COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

The Aquatic Biogeochemistry Group is committed to the inclusion of all persons, especially underrepresented groups in science. Our lab contract and code of conduct emphasizes that all members demonstrate respectful, inclusive, and equitable behavior in all professional environments. In all instances, we aim to build a welcoming and supportive research environment and community.
